"To know the love of God, to show the love of Christ."
Welcome to St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Perrysville! Please feel free to explore our site and contact us with any questions. We appreciate you visiting and hope you can share the love of Christ with us in worship and fellowship.
To know the love of God and to show the love of Christ
To bring us to an understanding of God's will in our lives, we seek to learn and teach what it means to be disciples of Jesus Christ, trusting the Holy Spirit for guidance, the Holy Scriptures for truth, and the Sacraments to sustain and strengthen us. We direct ourselves and all we have and are to supporting Jesus Christ's Mission: Serving others in His Name.
Please see below in News for new policies regarding in-person services.
During this time our church still must maintain our many financial responsibilities. With services cancelled, we are asking for your help to maintain donations and weekly giving. Vanco offers online giving through their secure site. Please click on the button below:
We are opening for "in person" worship services on Sundays in the Sanctuary starting on September 13th at 9:15AM. Sign ups are required. The link is below to sign up online to attend Sunday Sanctuary services. We will not have communion at the September Sunday worship services but will start communion in October.
We are excited to see everyone. We have taken many precautions, including partitions for the worship leaders, masks for all, social distancing the congregation, limiting the number of members in attendance at once, eliminating the use of hymnals, and more.
If you have any questions at all, just call the church office at 412-364-6626, Monday - Friday - 9AM to noon.
If you don't feel comfortable coming to church yet, we will still offer the online worship service and be sending the scripture readings as before.
For those coming this Sunday, please remember to wear your mask. We will enter through either set of doors closest to the cemetery. You will enter the Chapel and get your pew assignment. Bulletins are in the pews and offering plates are as you enter and exit the Sanctuary. Everyone is asked to exit the south doors by the handicapped ramp.
Sunday School 2020
St. John's will be holding Sunday School and related Christian Education in an online format through November based on results from a survey given to parents of our congregation.
Sunday, September 27th, we will hold a "drive-thru" blessing in the lower lot and distribute blessing bags to all children in our Christian Education program.
The Men of St. John's are planning for the Annual Pork & Sauerkraut Dinner at St. John's. This year may look different due to the current health restrictions. Please stay tuned for updates on this wonderful annual event at St. John's!
