"To know the love of God, to show the love of Christ."
Welcome to St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Perrysville! Please feel free to explore our site and contact us with any questions. We appreciate you visiting and hope you can share the love of Christ with us in worship and fellowship.
To know the love of God and to show the love of Christ
To bring us to an understanding of God's will in our lives, we seek to learn and teach what it means to be disciples of Jesus Christ, trusting the Holy Spirit for guidance, the Holy Scriptures for truth, and the Sacraments to sustain and strengthen us. We direct ourselves and all we have and are to supporting Jesus Christ's Mission: Serving others in His Name.

The first will be October 23/24th weekend for approval of next year's budget. Copies of the budget will be sent the week of October 4th. Please review and come with any questions or concerns. Thank you for your participation!
Please prayerfully consider joining Church Council for 2022. We are in need of people who are willing to serve our congregation as representatives in decision making. Nominations for the following positions will be accepted:
Members at large - at least 2
Voting on these nominations will take place November 6/7th.
Pork and Sauerkraut Dinner
The annual Pork and Sauerkraut Dinner hosted by the Men of St. John's will be held on Saturday, November 13th. Tickets are on sale in the Church Office for $12 and $6 for children.
This year there will only be one sitting with doors opening at 4:30 and dinner at 5:00PM. Take out will be available as well. Please contact the Church Office for more information.
Thank you Pastor Robinson!
At the end of December 2021, Pastor Mike Robinson will retire after 20 years of service to the congregation of St. John's. We are very grateful for his time and devotion to our church and community. We will miss you!
With Pastor Robinson's retirement comes a need to find a new pastor to serve our congregation. A Call Commitee is being formed of 6 members of the congregation under the direction of the Synod and Pastor Peter Asplin.
If you feel you can assist in this very important endeavor, please contact a member of Church Council.
Help needed in Madagascar
St. John's has a history of providing financial, personal and prayer support for our companion synod in Madagascar.
In 1996 our Synod sponsored the second mission trip to Madagascar. Our former member, Don Tatar, volunteered to join the 2 week mission trip and use his general contractor skills for construction and repair projects at medical and education facilities in Madagascar. St John's raised $8,000 to help finance Don's trip and to purchase and ship construction tools.
At another time we approved a short term interest free loan of $10,000 from the Greater St. John's Fund to provide urgently needed mosquito netting to protect residents while sleeping during an outbreak of mosquitos and risk of malaria. The loan was fully repaid in several weeks.
From time to time we have also raised funds and provided grants from the GSJF to help our sisters and brothers in Madagascar.
Once again, our companion ministries in Tulear are in need of help due to various ongoing issues like drought caused by cyclone damage and consequent famine, a recent fire at a synod social ministry organization, crop fields destroyed by locusts, and the Covid-19 pandemic on top of it all.
St. John's Council voted unanimously to help the ministries of Madagascar by pledging $5000 in financial assistance from the Greater St. John's Fund, but you can offer assistance immediately in one of two ways: either donating directly through the Southwest PA Synod's website or through the Vanco site at the top of this page.
Please pray for the Tulear Synod and those affected in Madagascar.
