To know the love of God and to show the love of Christ

To bring us to an understanding of God's will in our lives, we seek to learn and teach what it means to be disciples of Jesus Christ, trusting the Holy Spirit for guidance, the Holy Scriptures for truth, and the Sacraments to sustain and strengthen us.  We direct ourselves and all we have and are to supporting Jesus Christ's Mission:  Serving others in His Name.

St. John's Events

Annual Congregational Meeting

The Annual Congregational Meeting will be held Sunday, January 30th after the 10:15 service. Lunch will be provided my the Men of St. John's. 

Please join us as we vote on such things as the budget, benevolence distribution and the Call Committee members. We will also have a review of the past year in the church by our various committees and organizations. 

Chili and Cornbread Cook-Off

Calling all cooks – The Annual Chili, Soup and Cornbread Cook Off is on for January 16th!


That’s right! We will have chili, soup and cornbread, and we’re going to try out a new soup category this year.

Bring your best recipes and meet up in the Undercroft after worship on January 16th to see who has the best.

Entry for cooks is $5 per recipe. Tasters give $5 for all the
goodness they can eat. All proceeds go to the North Hills Food Bank. See you there!

Welcome Pastor Zimmerman!

Please join us in welcoming Pastor Bob Zimmerman as our interim pastor. Pastor Zimmerman will serve our congregation until a new pastor is chosen.

Call Committee

Our Call Committee has been selected and will be voted on at the January 30th Annual Meeting. This committee will work with Pastor Asplin from the Southwest PA Synod to choose our next pastor. More details will follow after the Annual Meeting.


Beacons of Hope discussion group

Have you begun to question your role as a Christian as different social issues oocur? 

Join our Beacons of Hope discussion group to meet with others who may have similar concerns. We will look at how we as Christians can handle such issues as a community and as individuals while maintaining our values. 

Our meetings take place monthly so please check our Facebook page or the Newsletter for the next meeting date.
