Worship Service Volunteers
Assisting Ministers
Assisting Ministers are used for each service. Assisting Ministers are responsible for:

Assisting the Senior Pastor with worship service duties
-
Reading liturgy
-
Distribution of Communion rites
-
Guiding Acolytes during services

Lectors
Lectors read the lessons for each worship service. Lectors will receive the readings in the mail prior to the service. Lectors should have good reading ability and familarize themselves with the lessons prior to services.
Please contact the Church office to offer your service. Sign-ups are on the kiosk in the Chapel as well.
Ushers
Ushers are used for each service including summer Fireside services. Ushers assist with the following:
-
greeting and seating worshippers and distributing bulletins
-
collecting the offering
-
set-up and take down of communion stations (1st Sunday of the month)
-
assist with audio assistance devices and special seating for worshippers

Acolytes
Acolytes are used for the Sunday morning services. Acolytes are youth volunteers, 5th Grade or older, who assist with worship service duties. Acolytes light the candles on the altar, process with the Pastor for Gospel readings into the Sanctuary, carry the Holy Bible and assist with Communion cup collection after Communion distribution.
Acolytes receive training during the year prior to being scheduled for services. If you would like your child to be trained to become an Acolyte, please contact our Christian Education Chairperson.
If your child has been trained already and would like to be scheduled for a service, please contact
the Church Office.
Altar Guild
The Altar Guild works to set up for services and to maintain the altar and its accessories for each service. Altar Guild members are responsible for:

Set up and take down of the altar paraments, vestments and communion vessels

Care and maintenance of the vestments, paraments and communion vessels
-
Care and maintenance of all other altar accessories

Nursery Staff
From September to May the Nursery is available to worshipers during the 10:15 service. Children of worshipers who are infant to Kindergarten age are offered the Nursery as a place to play while the service is going on. One person or more can staff the nursery depending on need. Volunteers should be at least 18 years old and have experience caring for children.
